Inspired by my daughter, Kaleena, whose suggestion opened the door, I created Natureworks Photography in the fall of 1997. My work has always been inspired by the intricate beauty and connectedness of the natural world. My love of botany and Native American ethnobotany here in the “wild heart of the world,” leads me to share my hope for a greater appreciation of all things untamed, untrammeled and misunderstood.
My photography includes scenes from Minnesota’s prairie, woodlands and sphagnum bogs. I specialize in photos of such rare or especially unique wild orchids as the ladyslippers. My trips to the Apostle Islands of Wisconsin and several national parks of the western United States are also featured on my website. I enjoy challenging viewers with mysterious, cosmic and even erotic botanical images inspired by the likes of Georgia O’Keefe.
Photos are available framed or unframed and are printed in a variety of sizes. Framing is done with acid free mattings, on foam-board and with non-reflective glass. The clean metal frames are available in gold, black or silver.
